Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

Inpatient Orientation volunteers provide caregivers with knowledge and support for their hospital stay. It can be overwhelming as a caregiver of an inpatient dealing with the stress of a sick and injured child. As a Inpatient Orientation volunteer you will be able to ease the stress by informing caregivers of services and support networks available to make their stay as supported as possible.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

We are looking for Volunteers to join our existing force of 'Everyday Super Heroes' as a Weekend Warrior, at our Townsville House. In this volunteer role, you will be the face of the organization and the first point of contact for our families, volunteers, donors and visitors who walk through our doors during weekend hours and provide support in the event of an emergency. You will ensure efficiency of House operations at weekends, with 3 different 4 hour shifts available between 8am - 8pm.

To act as after-hours sentinels who ensure the efficiency of evening House operations from 4.30PM – 8.00PM Monday - Friday and weekends Saturday & Sunday 3 shift per day available :- 8.00am - 12.00pm 12.00pm - 4.00pm, 4.00pm - 8.00pm.

The Carindale Toy Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers that can help us out for 2 hours at least once a month. We are open every second Saturday, and one Monday a month, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Just like a normal library but for toys instead of books! We are a community run organisation with 3 borrowing sessions a week and this is where we need helpers. Our sessions are busy - we would love your help with checking in toys; returning toys; helping members borrow new toys and maintaining toys.
