Waterwatch Training Workshop

Darebin Parklands Environment Centre, Separation St, Alphington 10:00AM - 03:30PM Volunteers Required

Connect with your community and help monitor Darebin's waterways by becoming a trained Waterwatch volunteer.

Merri Creek Management Committee and Waterwatch are hosting a FREE training session for new Waterwatch volunteers this November.

By becoming a Waterwatch volunteer you’ll learn how to collect water quality data, conduct habitat assessments and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates (water bugs). Long-term data from this program assists with monitoring waterway health and helps identify problems in our creeks.

Never collected water quality data before? No worries! No previous experience is needed to become a Waterwatch volunteer and you will be provided with all the necessary monitoring equipment, technical support and advice along the way. You’ll also be connected with existing Waterwatch groups so you can put your new skills to use by conducting regular water quality assessments with fellow Waterwatch volunteers.

This is a FREE training workshop, but registrations are essential. Register your spot by clicking on the link below or email [email protected] for more information.

This workshop is proudly supported by the City of Darebin.
