  1. Barker Inlet Wetland planting activity

    Come along and join Conservation Volunteers to bring back the locally extinct Yellowish Sedge Skipper by restoring vulnerable Gahnia filum habitat at the Barker Inlet Wetland. These planting event will run on the 2nd and the 9th of July, with the aim to plant 600 – 700 gahnia filums. All are welcome. Equipment and planting training will be provided.

  5. West Pilbara Turtle Program - Turtle Monitoring Volunteers 2022/23

    Do you like early morning walks and are you interested to learn more about WA’s flatback turtle populations? This position involves walking beaches at first light near Wickham and Cleaverville in the Pilbara, to monitor turtle nesting activity. Monitoring occurs daily during specific periods in November, December and January. All training is provided for free and you can volunteer as much or as little as you like post-training.

    Hooded Plovers are small coastal shorebirds. Listed as vulnerable nationally, there are less than 800 of these birds in South Australia with only 22 breeding pairs found on the Fleurieu Peninsula. There are multiple ways that you can assist to protect these birds. Fleurieu Hoodie Helpers are needed to monitor a given pair of birds on a particular beach and report sightings of bird behaviour.
