Community Nursery Assistants support the propagation of local provenance native plants for re-vegetation of the local environment within the City of Greater Geraldton. Many and varied tasks are available, depending on the time of season. Duties include seed collecting, seed sorting, decontaminating benches / pots, pricking plants and propagation. Friends of the Ngoolyak is a group of environmental volunteers based at Piney Lakes Reserve, who study the lifecycle of flora, collect, process, and germinate seeds for planting in the Reserve. The seed collection project started in December 2022 as a pilot project. Location: Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre, 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop. Date: every two weeks on Friday mornings Time: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

Volunteers are sought to assist with the conservation of the bushland of Wireless Hill Park.

Wirambi Landcare is Western Australian not-for-profit organisation focused on increasing the awareness of our unique wildlife. We offer a wide range of conservation projects in the metro area as well as projects in regional WA. These projects include tree planting, seed collection, endangered species protection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, and environmental monitoring.

BDEC will encourage you, support you and provide resources for you to undertake this, so turn your concerns into action at BDEC.

Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group, SERAG, is a local group of volunteers who enjoy hands-on caring and restoring health to the A-Class foreshore and bush reserves adjacent to the Swan River Estuary Marine Park on Melville’s river front in Attadale, Alfred Cove and Tompkins Park. Volunteers will weed and/or plant for two hours of a morning, then share a cuppa and cake together (provided) whilst enjoying the beautiful location that they are helping to restore and maintain.

Carrying out general gardening activities according to the agreed maintenance plan identifying monthly, half yearly and annual tasks.
