Formed in 2016, our volunteers get to experience a beautiful ever-changing view and lovely breezes while they contribute their time in the garden beds. Meeting on Tuesdays the Sandpipers work along the Esplanade, Pioneer Cemetery and other high-profile green spaces in the CBD to support Council in keeping our gardens looking spick and span. The Sandpipers group volunteers on Tuesday mornings from 9am to noon.

The ‘Salties’ volunteer revegetation group meets on Friday mornings to weed, plant and generally preserve the reserves along Saltwater Creek.

We are in need of volunteers for our gardening group. Down ‘n’ Dirty began in 2009 with two members who came to us with an interest in assisting in the Botanic Gardens.

We are presently in an urban setting and need to clean up the weeds, mow the lawn regularly and try to enhance the property with shrubs to bring some nature to this bland backyard.
