Friends of the Ngoolyak is a group of environmental volunteers based at Piney Lakes Reserve, who study the lifecycle of flora, collect, process, and germinate seeds for planting in the Reserve. The seed collection project started in December 2022 as a pilot project. Location: Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre, 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop. Date: every two weeks on Friday mornings Time: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

Wirambi Landcare is Western Australian not-for-profit organisation focused on increasing the awareness of our unique wildlife. We offer a wide range of conservation projects in the metro area as well as projects in regional WA. These projects include tree planting, seed collection, endangered species protection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, and environmental monitoring.

The Friends of Booragoon and Blue Gum Lakes, is involved in revegetation at the lakes. We meet on a monthly basis to weed around the plants we’ve planted in past years, and we also schedule planting days at both lakes.

Are you a well organised person who has a passion for the environment? The Helena River Catchment Group undertakes landcare and river rehabilitation projects on the Helena River and throughout the catchment. The small group of active volunteers is currently recruiting new members to build capacity for more landcare projects and to fill committee roles, particularly for the position of Secretary.

Do you have the time and skills to assist in our office? We are seeking a volunteer to assist in the office with general office duties. Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to wildlife conservation. We care for sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife; breed threatened species; conduct training and research; and educate schools and community.

A small team of volunteers approx 8 on each shift who are dedicated to caring for the wildlife who live at Kanyana permanently.

Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group, SERAG, is a local group of volunteers who enjoy hands-on caring and restoring health to the A-Class foreshore and bush reserves adjacent to the Swan River Estuary Marine Park on Melville’s river front in Attadale, Alfred Cove and Tompkins Park. Volunteers will weed and/or plant for two hours of a morning, then share a cuppa and cake together (provided) whilst enjoying the beautiful location that they are helping to restore and maintain.

This groups works in Blackwall Reach Reserve and along the river foreshore at Blackwall Reach Parade, doing restoration and erosion control works. They hold regular workdays and planting days throughout the year between April - September.

We are seeking additional volunteers to assist our group with watering two natural areas in Blackwell Reach Reserve over the summer months.

Repair Lab Melville is a community event run by volunteers who use their skills to help people repair items that would otherwise be discarded and sent to landfill. Repair Lab Assistants will help set up and pack up the event, help Repair Lab Melville attendees to carry items for repair into the venue, answer general enquiries and direct attendees to repair stations.

We have three sites in the City of Melville which are Blue Gum Lake, Booragoon Lake and Quenda Wetland where we assist the council’s bushcrew and the friends of group in caring for these reserves.

Sustainable Energy Now (SEN) is a grass roots not for profit all volunteer organisation with a strong reputation in WA for its technical expertise and advocacy in the energy transition. The Committee Member Treasurer is Perth based would suit someone with a finance, or management background with 5+ years' experience.

Activities include building raised garden beds, planting, weeding, harvesting, teaching, learning and organising community events.
