Radio Operators keep ongoing computer logs of outgoing boats and operates radio to respond to situations. Volunteer members enjoy contributing to their community through their rewarding and satisfying work, whilst obtaining a high degree of training and qualifications in the maritime industry.

Join the volunteer rescue Boat Crew and be involved in the running and operation of our rescue craft! All training will be provided by MRG and promotion through to rescue skipper is possible. Training includes radio operation, boat handling, navigation, rope handling, towage, search and rescue and a host of other maritime skills.

The Rockingham Kwinana SES Unit is made up of four sections; Rescue, Logistics, Communications and Operations, with each team contributing to the overall function of the Unit. Operations is the information processing area for SES. Much of our work is computer based. Our main role is to record all the details of emergencies into a database and track teams who are out on jobs.

While the trucks and firefighters are the highly visible face of local operations, a Brigade’s support framework is key to ensuring the smooth running of the Brigade and its operational readiness. Brigades have varying “Crew Support” positions available. Holders of these positions are not required to perform active operational duties.
