As a Social Inclusion Volunteer, you will meet elderly people and people with disability to support them in various roles. Drivers are responsible for driving to our Hunter Street office then to customers homes with a helper. Volunteers will need to have a full licence and own comprehensively insured car. It is a mandatory requirement, according to Public Health Orders, for volunteers to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccines and booster vaccine registration certificate.

Wesley Mission Queensland is currently seeking expressions of interest from people looking to give a helping hand to people in need as a volunteer within our Emergency Relief Service.

Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.

Here is your chance to make a difference! You will be able to achieve this by organising and preparing a weekly/fortnightly/monthly meal for people who may be experiencing, (or who are at risk of) homelessness as well as other vulnerable groups in the community. This volunteer role involves working with a small team of like-minded volunteers who will create a warm & welcoming space for meals to be served, and engage with clients who attend in a respectful and non-judgemental manner.
