The purpose of the Regional Visitor Ambassador is to promote the region and all of its attractions (including the Whale Centre), providing recommendations, advice and assistance to visitors and the community. These recommendations might include things to do, attractions, accommodation and events. Volunteers are key ambassadors for Victor Harbor and Fleurieu Peninsula.

Assist our team with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and efficient delivery of services. We believe in working with your strengths and will tailor the role and tasks. Responsibilities may include connecting with volunteers and scheduling their availability, responding to inquiries, and providing general office support, assist with pop-up information stores in shopping centre. Your contribution will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.

The role of a visitor servicing /tourism volunteer is to provide as much assistance and information to the visitors in a non biased way, so they can make an informed decision. Be ambassadors for the region, and offer good Customer Service. Provide non biased information, Telephone, email, and face to face enquiries and customer service, referral service for accommodation, referral service for local business. Selling merchandise. Visitor Servicing at local events.

The Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre is staffed by a dedicated and enthusiastic band of volunteers. We welcome all inquiries about volunteering and encourage you to join in an experience that people find rewarding, challenging, interesting and enjoyable.

Your interest in gardens and horticulture, enthusiasm for all things environmental and love of informing others will be greatly valued in this role. You'll be asked to guide, inform and educate visitors, including groups from schools and other educational institutions, and to assist with other educational activities. Tours and activities will be scheduled in consultation with you. This role requires a current Criminal Record check and would prefer to also have Working with Children Check.
