YPRL is seeking a new **Reading Dogs team** to join Thomastown Library. Our Reading Dogs program promotes children’s literacy by having children read aloud to dogs at the library. Our mission is to make reading fun and enjoyable for children so that they become confident and lifelong readers. Reading Dogs are accredited companion animals who volunteer with their owner/handler as a team by facilitating reading sessions. RDA is a voluntary organisation providing equine-assisted activities for people with disabilities to develop and enhance abilities through programs such as riding, dressage and carriage driving. Horses provide vital mental and physical stimulation for our disabled participants, improving their confidence, increasing their autonomy and delivering immeasurable amounts of pleasure. There are many and varied opportunities for volunteers at our centre.

Shelter attendant volunteers are responsible predominantly for the cleaning of indoor rabbit enclosures and maintaining the cleanliness at the rabbit orphanage. You will be working in a mainly indoor environment.

In joining Collingwood Children's Farm Busy Bees Volunteer program, you get the opportunity to immerse yourself in the nature and beauty that the Farm has to offer, whilst learning about the daily operations from our experienced and passionate team. But that's not all! You’ll be rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty completing some vital farm jobs. You’ll get a chance to engage with like-minded people who share your passion for plants, animals and community connection.

Would you like to work with others to help our riders with disability achieve their goals? If you have some experience with horses, or would like to learn more about them, we would like to talk to you. Our horse handlers assist with grooming, tack and walking with the riders during their lesson. This is an active role for those looking for 'hands on' opportunities.

Aged Care - Chook Pen & Bird Cages- Attendant. Attend to our chook pen once a week. Duties include hosing out the floor and replacing food & straw. An interest and/or knowledge of poultry would be an advantage. Or clean and top up food and water for bird cages located around the facilities Volunteers at both Arrunga and Yallaroo Facilities.
