Modbury Hospital Guide Volunteers are based at the Hospital's main entrance and assist patients and visitors with directions to their destination. Guide Volunteers position suit someone who is interested in interacting with the public, able to deal with occasional stressful situations, and physically fit enough to stand and walk much of the shift. A Guide can be rostered Mon – Fri and shifts can vary from 4 hours to a full day. Training and induction are provided.

The Lyell McEwin Hospital serves a community of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Some people may find the hospital difficult to navigate finding the ward or service they need. Guides are often the first face a visitor sees when entering the hospital and have the important role of greeting patients and visitors as they arrive.

Volunteers in this role provide support and guidance to the visitors and staff of the Modbury Hospital Outpatients Department by greeting patients on arrival and directing patients to the required area.

Would you like to become a volunteer with ECH Day Programs? These programs are designed to cater for people who may be experiencing dementia or memory loss. ECH has Day Programs are held at Smithfield, Henley Beach, Happy Valley and Walkerville each offering a range of activities such as gardening, arts and craft, billiards, cooking, music, dancing and gentle exercise programs.

We need volunteers who have empathy with people and are able to walk around with visitors to help them find their appointments. When trained you will be able to give directions clearly to those seeking guidance. Visitors appreciate assistance given by friendly, helpful people.

EWB Australia is conducting its first group facilitation training underpinned by Groupwork Centre's Model of Collaborative Practice. To boost our ability to process, retain, and recall information, we would love to bring in a Visual Note-Taker/Graphic Recorder to capture the gold nuggets in every session and our learnings as a group. Some of our staff based in Asia-Pacific will be joining us, so this training will be held online.
