Volunteer Marine Rescue members serve their respective communities on a voluntary basis by undertaking both operational and non-operational roles. VMRS groups work in close liaison with the Western Australia Police, coordinating and performing a range of marine rescue activities for the WA community. Marine Rescue NSW saves lives on the water, providing 24-hour emergency response, returning thousands of boaters in trouble safely to shore every year. Our Radio Operators provide a vital service for commercial and recreational watercraft along the NSW coastline, using the state’s only public marine radio network.

Radio Operators keep ongoing computer logs of outgoing boats and operates radio to respond to situations.
