About Embrace Education

Embrace Education is a non-profit, university student-run organisation that offers free educational support to disadvantaged high-school students in Melbourne, Victoria. The program was started in late 2006 by a group of young Monash University students and obtained Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status in 2009. Due to the success of the Monash chapter, Embrace Education was later established at The University of Melbourne and is growing rapidly.

We currently run three programs:

1. The Homework Club Program - a casual and safe space at schools for students to bring their homework after-school and be provided with support from our tutors

2. The In-School Tutoring Program - a program running during school hours with tutors acting as support for teachers and students in class rooms

3. The Individual Tutoring Program - individualised one-on-one sessions provided by experienced tutors to students who require extra assistance with their work

We believe that education is essential to breaking the cycle of disadvantage and that every person is entitled to a quality education regardless of their background and circumstances. Through our programs we aim to help students realise their potential by embracing education.
