About Heart for the Homeless

Heart for the Homeless is a group of individuals passionate about making a difference locally to impact the world globally.

Heart for the Homeless is focused on building the bridge and standing in the gap between industry and charity by implementing and operating effective and influential initiatives that generate resources for existing charitable organisations.

Every week, over 79,000 Australians move home. The Heart for the Homeless - Moving Cities Initiative calls upon real estate and adjacent industries to be proactive in aiding those facing hardship in the community in which they operate.

Through building a network of real estate agents and other companies, we ask them to participate in the “Moving Cities Initiative” by distributing “It's Your Move Cards" to the residents moving in and out of their community.

These small, yet effective cards prompt the resident to go to our website and register their move.

Once they register, their information is then collected by Heart for the Homeless and we utilise this to communicate and synchronise with the local not-for-profit service provider in the area that the resident is moving home from, for example, The Salvation Army.

The partner charity will then contact this resident moving home and arrange for the collection of any usable unwanted furniture and clothing. This will then enable our partner charities to extend the organisations’ support services to aid those who suffer from homeless and poverty in all its forms.

Mission: “To build an organisation focused on meeting the needs of the world through identifying areas of usable wasted resources and by utilising systems and networks to efficiently ensure that this resource is connected to those in need.”

Vision: "To be a progressive and passionately efficient organisation focused on influencing and empowering our community to be active in reducing poverty.”
