About St Jude's Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)- Southern and Western Suburbs, Adelaide

Do you have a genuine liking, empathy and respect for older people ? Do you have an hour or two per week that you could volunteer in ? Do you live in or near the Holdfast Bay/Marion Council areas, or in the Inner Western suburbs? if so, we would love to hear from you.
St Jude's are looking for Aged Care Volunteer Visitors.
The role of the Volunteer Visitor is to make regular contact with an older, isolated or vulnerable person who is an aged care facility, or in their own home, with the aim of establishing a friendship over time. Volunteers are "matched" to an older person with whom they might share similar interests, cultural background, language or experiences.
No aged care skills or experience is required, and support is provided by the St Jude's ACVVS Coordinators.
Reimbursement is available for out of pocket expenses relating to ACVVS visits. Opportunities for volunteer get togethers are held on a regular basis, and new volunteers of any age ( must be over 18), are warmly welcomed
