About this opportunity
We are seeking volunteers who have some time to give our residents the opportunity to be connected and engaged in some meaningful activities that is suited to the individual. Eldercare requires volunteers who are comfortable to share one to one time with residents in memory support.
You must be a good listener, patient, friendly, have a gentle nature and be able to communicate well with older people. Honesty and reliability, non-judgmental and tolerant attitude, ability to maintain confidential information, ability to work as part of a team and without constant direct supervision and ability to seek assistance. There is flexibility to suit your availability but you must be over 18 years of age.
All volunteers must have the annual Influenza vaccinations, triple Covid vaccinations and a Police clearance to work with vulnerable persons.

* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
1 - 2 times per week, days & times can be negotiated on commencement.
