Blue Door Kitchen Assistant

About this opportunity

Help us create a hope-filled, warm, and inviting atmosphere for our patrons as we prepare and provide, snacks, meals, and a listening ear. Volunteers will assist with café service, prepare and serve food, clean the kitchen and centre, maintain daily supplies, remove waste, and meet simple requests for assistance by our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in a team environment to achieve daily tasks

• Serve our patrons in a professional, confidential, friendly and timely manner

• Follow the directions of the daily kitchen team leader

• Work consistent with current skill and competency levels and seek advice/training for new or unfamiliar tasks

• Compliance with organisational policies and procedures, legislation, Health, Safety, Food, environment and diversity and a commitment to quality systems and continuous improvement.

Working with Vulnerable People Check .

A Working with Vulnerable People Card is required for this role, however you can submit the application after chatting with our Vinnies Volunteer Coordinator.

Time Required

Blue Door currently opens on weekdays (excluding Public Holidays) from 8:00am to 1:30pm for coffee etc. and support, with a hot meal served each day at 12pm. Shift times: 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
