JUNIOR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN'S TUTOR

About this opportunity

We are seeking tutors to assist inner-city public housing children in Collingwood with their education. Many of these children are migrants who are behind in Maths, Literacy and senior subjects are in need of tutoring to assist them catch up their peers so that they will enjoy school and learning. The aim is to give them better chance of not dropping out of school early and helping them to excel in their education - gaining meaningful employment opportunities in the future. We offer you an opportunity to join a vibrant team of volunteers from all walks of life and ages. Weekly tutoring classes will run during Vic school terms 2 & 3 only during the year - 6pm - 8pm at a Collingwood venue

Tutoring is during Vic school terms 2 + 3

Evening tutoring on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis with the same child/ren each week. Held 6pm - 8pm on Tuesday evenings We are looking for a commitment for at least 1 school term period. (commencing Vic school term 2)  Commitment to arrive on time each week of term to these children is strongly emphasised as these young people need consistency to achieve.
