About this opportunity

Members of the SES play a significant & vital role in helping to ensure that the community is a safe place in which to work, live & play. They serve the community on a voluntary basis by providing a commitment in operational & non-operational roles. SES are called to assist in a variety of situations locally from helping the Ambulance Service to negotiate stairs to full scale searches for those missing in our wilder areas.

SES volunteers undertake regular training in order to perform their duties in a safe and timely manner. There are opportunities for both the very active and fit to volunteer as well as those who would like to contribute time in a desk based role.

In large emergency situations the SES are integral to the operations often taking on logistics roles.

To train in areas of search and rescue in order to assist the community in specific emergency situations. SES volunteers attend training and meetings at least twice a month at the co-location facility in Brazier street. Volunteers may be asked to help with people searches, floods, storm damage and other areas during emergency situations.


Additional requirements

National Police Certificate *.

To be available to train regularly and on a call out basis.
