About The Baragoola Preservation Association Incorporated

Baragoola was launched in 1922, the last of six similar sister ships that came to typify the classic Manly ferry for eighty years. Baragoola's survival into the 21st century has been a tale of luck and timing. Sydney has lost nearly all of its' great fleet of ferries and Baragoola is the last Sydney built Manly ferry left on the harbour. The aim of the Baragoola Society is to restore the ship, as near as possible, to her 1960s operational condition, when she was converted from steam to diesel propulsion.
