About this opportunity

Volunteers are required to assist respite staff with day to day running of the house and activities such as outings for clients. House duties may include food preparation and general cleaning.

Volunteers will benefit from meeting new people, learning new skills, assisting people with disabilities and the satisfaction from knowing that they are giving back to the community.

A high level of spoken English is required for this role and the ability to interact with people with disabilities and take direction from paid staff. Volunteers will work within a team environment. Some experience working with people with disabilities highly desirable. Volunteers with an interest in the area of disability care is essential as a commitment to this role is beneficial for the volunteer and clients.

North West Disability Services is a COVID safe organisation and implements safe practices to ensure the health and safety of all who come into contact with NWDS including Volunteers.

National Police Certificate *.

Time Required

Flexible hours over 7 days, between 9am - 10.30pm volunteers are required to complete a shift max 6 hours.
