About Baby in Mind

Baby in Mind promotes mental health development. We work at the very beginning of life, when brain development is most rapid, when prevention has its greatest impact, and at the time it matters most.

We are a national not-for-profit charity and an official partner to the World Health Organisation Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Program. Each year in Australia we provide the First Touch Program to around 30-35,000 parents and young babies from all walks of life. We also have an active overseas program with training and services being delivered in refugee camps, disaster and war zones, and some of the world’s most vulnerable orphanages.

Baby in Mind also provides nationally accredited training for people to deliver the First Touch Program. Graduates work in hospitals, community centres, neonatal intensive care units, early intervention centres, mental health services, foster care services, prisons, primary health services, disability services and anywhere else where babies and parents are.

Baby in Mind welcomes participation from any member of the community in our training, fundraising, or volunteering activities. The only pre-requisite is that you believe in the importance of supporting parents and babies to establish early relationships that are loving, healthy and secure.

Baby in Mind is approved by Centrelink for volunteering under mutual obligation requirements.
